"I would like to buy $3 worth of God, please. Not enough to explode my soul or disturb my sleep, but just enopugh to equal a cup of warm milk or a snooze in the sunshine. I don't want enough of Godto make me love a black man or pick beets with a migrant. I want ecstasy, not transformation. i want warmth of the womb, not a new birth. I want a pound o the eternal in a paper sack. I would like to buy $3 worth of God, please." ---Wilbur Rees

I came across the above quote in the Voice of the Martyrs magazine. I was changed to not be so focused on the immediacy of the world around me, to embrace a new level of prayer, to invite-no, lead, by children in a level of fatih I believe in---but need to step into more often. I hope that you find yourself in a similar place of hunger and thirst for our Lord. He did say that HE would fill us. Let us be starving for our God, for the eternal, for what really matters and then watch as God the Eternal meets the temporal in supernatural ways!

  1. Holy conviction, Batman! You know, I was just telling God the other day that I needed a swift kick in the pants cuz I was equating time with Him to a cup of coffee - something to soothe and fill me, but not something that really challenges me or makes me uncomfortable. This was the kick I needed! Thanks Lea!
